For teams that move fast

Ask Boffin how anything works.

Your product changes every week. Boffin reads your code and checks your running app, then explains how things actually work in plain English, in Slack or in the app. No stale docs. No pinging engineers.

@Boffin Acme want SSO before they sign. Can they have it on the Team plan?

@Priya here’s what I found.

Not on Team. SSO is Enterprise-only. Enterprise trials include it, though, so Acme can set it up during a 14-day trial.

  • A Team workspace’s Settings → Security page offers SSO only as an upgrade to Enterprise. · Signed in as a Team admin
  • SSO is switched on for the Enterprise plan only. · Billing/Plans.php:42-58
  • Trials run on Enterprise for 14 days, SSO included. · Trials/StartTrial.php:31

You’re moving faster than ever. That’s the problem.

New features land every week. Settings change. Edge cases pile up. Some of it was built with AI in an afternoon.

Great for momentum. Not so great for anyone trying to hold it all in their head. Your engineers mostly know how it works. Everyone else is working from memory, old docs and educated guesses.

01

The docs are already out of date.

They describe last quarter’s product. Nobody has had time to fix them, and nobody will.

02

The answers live in engineers’ heads.

So someone asks in Slack, waits, and pulls an engineer out of deep work. Again.

03

So people guess.

Sales promises something that isn’t there. Support gives last month’s answer. Decisions get made on hunches.

Meet Boffin

The colleague who knows how everything works.

Boffin answers from what’s really there, not what someone wrote down six months ago. It checks the way a good engineer would, by reading the code and trying it in the app, then explains what it found so anyone can act on it.

  1. 1

    Ask

Mention @Boffin in a Slack channel, send it a DM, or ask in the Boffin app. Drop in a screenshot if it helps.

  2. 2

    Boffin checks the real thing

It searches your code and clicks through a running copy of your app, taking screenshots as it goes.

  3. 3

You get the answer, with receipts

Plain English, right in the thread. Each point is marked as checked in the app or read from the code, with links to the exact lines.

  4. 4

    It stays true

Save good answers to your knowledge base. When the code changes, Boffin re-checks them and flags anything that’s gone out of date, with a suggested fix.

Safe to point at your product.

  • Read-only by default. It never changes your code.
  • Uses a staging copy of your app, signed in with test accounts you choose.
  • Never sees passwords. Secrets and .env files are stripped from the code it reads.

Made for everyone who isn’t in the code.

The people closest to your customers are often furthest from how the product works. Boffin closes that gap, so they can sell, support and decide with confidence.

  • Sales“Can Acme get SSO on the Team plan?”
  • Support“Why would a customer see ‘sync paused’?”
  • Customer success“How does a customer add a second admin?”
  • Product“What happens to an account when a trial ends?”
  • Marketing“What does the new export do, exactly?”
  • Founders“Where do we store customer files?”

And your engineers? They get their afternoons back.
